Schiller Institute NYC chorus & Foundation for the Revival of Classical Culture will present a memorial concert on 11 September 2026:
9/11 25th Year Memorial in America's 250th Year
Beethoven's Ninth: A Pathway Out of War
Friday, September 11, 2026, 7:00 pm
Salvation Army CMT Hall
120 W 14th St, New York, NY
To properly remember and pay tribute to the victims of 9/11/2001 attacks and the ongoing quarter century of continuous wars since then, we will reach out to our namesake Friedrich Schiller, the Poet of Freedom, and two great musical masters, Beethoven & Brahms.

An die Freude (To Joy) and Nänie, (a Song of Lament) in the music of Beethoven & Brahms present two contrasting images of the magnificence and beauty found in the brotherhood of mankind.
The program also includes two works of Antonín Dvořák: Goin' Home and his own recently discovered rendition of My Country "tis of Thee; Spirituals, guests speakers including Becky Rossman CEO of Tuesday's Promise; and the FDNY Ceremonial Unit Color Guard.

Schiller Institute Chorus will be joined by the Japanese Peace Chorus, NYC Daiku Singers, an ensemble renowned for performing Beethoven’s Ninth internationally as a living symbol of peace and reconciliation.
In 2016, the Schiller Institute NYC Chorus with the Foundation for the Revival of Classical Culture, presented 4 days of performance, September 9-12, in remembrance of 9/11. Each day, 80 choristers and 42 musicians presented a program which included Mozart's Requiem, and on 9/11/2016, the memorial included a color guard of dozens of FDNY firefighters at St. Joseph's Co-Cathedral at the Sunday Mass service, punctuated again by the movements of Mozart's Requiem.
The impact was enormous, from NYC to Washington DC. This year's Memorial, with 120 choristers and 54 musicians, on the 25th anniversary is more needed than every. Perhaps America's 250th will remind us of, and help restore, the founding principles of our Republic, to help end the plague of permanent war.

Only two virtues exist. Oh, would they were ever united!
Ever the good also great, ever the great also good.
