Schiller Institute Chorus will present a 9/11 Memorial Concert in remembrance of the victims of war, performing the Requiem in C minor of Luigi Cherubini.
Cherubini, Beethoven & Spirituals, with the FDNY Ceremonial Unit, and featured speaker, Becky Rossman, CEO of Tuesday's Children.
Beethoven regarded Cherubini as his greatest contemporary composer, and indeed requested the Cherubini Requiem for his own funeral:
“Among all composers alive, Cherubini is the most worthy of respect.
I am in complete agreement, too, with his conception of the Requiem.”
