Mozart Rondo in A minor

🎼🎶 Tuesday, August 31, 2021

Mozart’s Rondo in A minor, K 511, is a universal favorite among shorter works for piano.

It was composed in 1787, when Mozart had just returned from Prague where the perfomances of his opera “The Marriage of Figaro” were a resounding success, and he was just beginning work on “Don Giovanni”. No sketches for the Rondo exist, and it is certainly possible that Mozart didn’t feel any need to sketch in his “native tongue” (the keyboard), and simply wrote out the score from his head.
