Luigi Cherubini Requiem Summer Sing!

Schiller Institute Chorus invites all singers to join us in a sing-through of this seldom-performed masterpiece for our summer project for our 9/11 Memorial Concert on September 14, 2025.
A reception will follow the June 12th sing-through.

Beethoven regarded Cherubini as his greatest contemporary composer, and indeed requested the Cherubini Requiem for his own funeral.
 “Among all composers alive, Cherubini is the most worthy of respect.
I am in complete agreement, too, with his conception of the Requiem.”

Schiller Institute NYC Chorus is a non-profit community-based chorus.
There are no auditions. Hard-working beginners are welcome!
All rehearsals and performances are at the Verdi classical pitch of C=256 Hz.
