On Sunday, July 5th, 2020 the Schiller Institute NYC Chorus hosted a Musikabend celebration that brought together over 100 people from across the USA as well as South America. The Zoom event began with the reading of Langston Hughes' poem, Let America Be America Again, and ended with a screen share of the score of America, the Beautiful for a rousing sing-along, with many surprises in between. 

On April 26, 2020, the Schiller Institute NYC Chorus participated in the Culture Panel at the International Conference of the Schiller Institute. Both Diane Sare and John Sigerson, co-directors of the Schiller Institute NYC Chorus, participated in the panel.

On December 22, 2019, as the end of the year approached, our the Schiller Institute NYC Chorus presented a Holiday Concert & Sing-along at St. Veronica’s Cultural Center in the Village. We produced the Program as a Song Book so that everyone in the audience had their own music to sing and to take home.

The Schiller Institute NYC Chorus closed the year giving tribute to the Alexandrov Ensemble (also known as the Red Army Chorus). On Christmas Day, 2016 a Tupolev Tu-154 jetliner of the Russian Defence Ministry crashed into the Black Sea shortly after taking off from Sochi International Airport, Russia, while en route to Khmeimim Air Base, Syria. All 92 passengers and crew on board, including 64 members of the Alexandrov Ensemble were killed.

The Schiller Institute Chorus had a wonderful time with a great bunch of talented students at Columbia Secondary School in Harlem on December 18, 2019. 

The Schiller Institute NYC Chorus joined the Foundation for the Revival of Classical Culture at Carnegie Hall on December 16, 2019 in launching the year-long celebration of Beethoven's 250th year, .

From the combined chorus Messiah Concert at St. Mark's in Harlem, the Chorus rushed to Little Italy in the Bronx for its second concert of the day, featuring the great Bach Magnificat.

On Saturday, December 7th, members of the Schiller Institute NYC Chorus joined more than 10 other choirs, including of 4 public schools, for the annual Handel's Messiah Concert at Mt. Calvary-St. Mark's UM Church in Harlem.

A triplet of anniversaries, of which the first was the 260th birthday of Friedrich Schiller, the Poet of Freedom. The celebration took place on Saturday, November 9, 2019 in New York City. 

The Sino-American Musician Association and the Council of Chinese-American Associations invited the Schiller Institute NYC Chorus to participate in the 6th New York Chinese Chorus Festival, held on September 28, 2019.
