On Friday, October 20, 2023, the Schiller Institute NYC Chorus received the Motif Awards Fine Arts Medal for Humanitarianism and Excellence in the Arts. 

The International Schiller Institute has issued a petition for artists to establish Friedrich Schiller's poem, "The Artist" as the "Standard for Overturning the Cultural Breakdown that Obstructs Peace and Drives Mankind to Global Nuclear War."

Reginald Bouknight, a long-time friend and collaborator of the Schiller Institute, passed away on July 26, 2021. Wherever he sang with us, in Virginia, in Boston, in NYC, and other places, he brought a happy and moving spirit to the room. 

Eugene Thamon Simpson was a master musician, choral director, composer and arranger of Spirituals, and biographer of Hall Johnson. He was a personal friend and advisor of the Schiller Institute NYC Chorus and its founder, Diane Sare.

On his 88th birthday, May 11, 2021, Minister Farrakhan released for the first time his 2002 performance of the Beethoven Violin Concerto.

The Schiller Institute is gathering leading spokesmen from the United States, Russia, China, Africa, Europe, and the Americas for a dialogue on how to meet the existential crisis facing mankind with the idea of “peace through development.” Lyndon LaRouche fostered this approach, with the idea of always "looking ahead to the next fifty years." With that method, we can consider what is required to create the necessary revolution in human affairs to both meet these crises together as a human race, and to unleash the creative potential of mankind to create a world worthy of the dignity of man, now and in the future.  

After an effective two day run, Facebook cancelled the ad of the Schiller Institute Chorus for its upcoming January 24th Robert Burns Birthday Celebration event.

The evidently offending text read, "It would be difficult to find anyone in any culture who has not heard or sung the heart warming song Auld Lang Syne to bring in the New Year, 'for old times sake.' While many recognize that it is associated with the National Poet of Scotland, Robert Burns, fewer know the role that 'Rabbie' played historically during the time of the American Revolution. Join us for an evening of poetry, song & dialogue."
